Trenchless Sewer Repair in Los Angeles County

Trenchless sewer repair fixes or replaces a sewer lateral through one or two small access pits instead of an open trench along the whole run. The two common methods are pipe lining (cured-in-place pipe, or CIPP), which builds a new pipe inside the old one, and pipe bursting, which pulls a new pipe through while splitting the old one apart.

In Los Angeles County it gets asked about most where a lateral runs under a driveway, hardscape, a mature tree or a finished slope, where digging the whole line would mean a big restoration bill on top of the plumbing. Companies with the Trenchless badge are listed first. Listings here are companies whose name, website or listed services point to this work, plus companies carrying our Trenchless badge. A listing is not a guarantee that a company offers a specific method, so confirm it on the call and ask to see the camera inspection first.

Trenchless: common questions

Is trenchless sewer repair always possible?

No. Lining needs a pipe that still holds its shape, and bursting needs a clear path and access at both ends. A collapsed section, a severe belly or a line that needs rerouting can still mean digging. The camera inspection decides it.

Is trenchless cheaper than digging?

Sometimes. The pipe work itself often costs about the same or more per foot, but you avoid most of the restoration of concrete, landscaping and hardscape. Compare written quotes that include restoration.

Do I need a permit for trenchless sewer repair?

Usually yes. Most Los Angeles County cities and sewer agencies require a permit for lateral repair or replacement, whatever the method. Ask the contractor to pull it.
